Unfortunately, due to allergies, we cannot currently accept pets. 

Assistance dogs are welcome, however please let us know in advance that this is the case as we will have to make alternative cleaning arrangements. 

Please do not abuse this by claiming your dog is an assistance dog when it is not, as this is unfair on those who genuinely need it.

We do have WiFi! 

WiFi is available throughout the Cottage and is free of charge. WiFi login details are provided in our guest handbook on arrival.

During the summer months (April to September), prices range between £150 per night and £210 per night. 

In the winter, the price starts at £140 per night. 

Please note we charge for the entire Cottage - not per person.

We understand - things happen! We've tried to make the process as simple as possible, and to cover our costs we have introduced a small fee.

On all bookings, a £50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your dates, with the balance due six weeks prior to arrival.

If booking six weeks or less before arrival, full payment is due upon booking.

Any cancellations 15 days or more before the date of arrival will get a full refund, minus the £50 deposit.

Cancellations within 14 days of arrival will not be refunded.

We strongly advise taking out travel insurance to cover events such as ferry or flight cancellations.

If you do need to cancel, just get in touch and we will organise everything for you. 

During the summer months (April to September), we have a minimum three night stay. 

Occasionally, if there are small gaps, we may reduce this, but not on request, we are afraid. We both work full time, so it can be tricky to turnaround the Cottage.

During the winter months we may reduce our minimum night stay.

We are also available on booking.com and airbnb, however for the best prices, this website is the place to book! If you book through any other channel other than this website, we are not responsible for this and cannot refund you any difference in prices.

If you are booking within six weeks of arrival, full payment is required, however if you cancel 15 days or more before arrival, you will get a full refund, less £50 admin fee.

If booking six weeks or more prior to arrival, a £50 non refundable deposit is payable to secure your dates, with the balance payable six weeks before arrival. We will send you a link three days before the balance is due.

It is possible to pay more, or earlier, just get in touch and we will organise this for you.

We used to only accept full payment on booking, and after listening to feedback, we decided to implement a £50 non-refundable deposit to secure your dates, with the balance due six weeks prior to your arrival.

We have been able to make this change due to changes in our software package.

Fear not though, if you prefer to get everything paid upfront, or stagger your payments, just get in touch and we can organise that for you!

Due to the layout of the house, we do not have a dishwasher.

There is a washing machine, and we provide a couple of washing tablets for your use (further washing tablets will need to be purchased from the supermarket or shop)

We do not have a tumble dryer, however we do have a drying rack, and also, for good weather days, there is a whirligig available in the garden (or in the secure bicycle storage area)

We do not have a coffee machine, but we do provide a cafetiere (French press) if you bring your own ground coffee.

The property is very close to a main road with no safety gates, and the single beds are not suitable for children under the age of four. For these reasons, we do not accept children under the age of six.

Including children over the age of 6, our licence allows us to have four people at any one time in the Cottage. 

Breaches of this rule are taken very seriously and may mean you are asked to leave the property and find alternative accommodation. We will not provide refunds in these situations, and the alternative accommodation will be at your own cost.

Borve House Hotel and Restaurant is a five minute walk from the Cottage. We recommend booking. Borve House also has a small public bar. 

Neither the pub nor the restaurant are open on Sundays.

Unfortunately not, as the domestic plugs will not accept EV chargers, and would in fact be very dangerous for the occupants of the property and the property itself. 

There is an EV charger two and a half miles away at Galson Campsite. 

There are three beds. A king size double (unfortunately this cannot be split into separate beds), and two singles. 

Due to Scottish licensing laws, we are not allowed to have any more than four people staying at any one time. 

For that reason, and reasons of space, we do not have any extra beds.

Whilst most shops and visitor attractions are closed on Sundays, there are restaurants in Stornoway which open on a Sunday (booking is absolutely essential). 

In Stornoway there is also Engebrets garage (petrol station with wee mini supermarket) which opens 10-4, and the Tesco supermarket also opens 12-8. Please note times can change.

Sunday is still a great day to get out and about should you so wish, as long as you are prepared.
