Whilst we prefer to stay in the background - it's your holiday, not ours! - we are more than happy to help with as much of your trip as we can.
I'm Beverley and I was brought up here on Lewis, and have spent the last 20+ years working in tourism. Customer service is my passion, and that has tripped over into the Cottage - it really is my mission to make you feel like Snowberry Cottage is your home from home, here in the Hebrides.
We don't live far away from Snowberry, so are on hand (although we do both work full time, so please bear that in mind!) if you need anything either before, during or after your stay.
Alastair is the man behind a lot of the pieces in the Cottage (and took care of most of the refurb himself, with the help of some wonderfully talented tradesmen).
We wanted the furniture to be in keeping with the age of the building but with modern amenities too. There is an eclectic mix of both old and new, and each item has been carefully chosen. Some of the items have even been hand crafted by Alastair!

Unwind
Our mission, when we first started Snowberry Cottage, was to provide our guests with a wonderful base in which to unwind and relax, whilst feeling free to explore and discover the beautiful island we inhabit.
The Cottage is situated in the peaceful village of Borve on the way to the northernmost tip of the Outer Hebrides, just twenty minutes drive from the main town of Stornoway, you can relax in the tranquility of the surroundings, whilst being within walking distance of a pub and restaurant (booking essential, closed on Sundays).
Borve is also home to a rocky shoreline which in itself is a lovely walk, just ten minutes from your door.
Explore
The Cottage on Lewis is a great base for exploring the island of Lewis and Harris (one land mass!), and the information within the Cottage can provide you with plenty of information to help you plan the perfect trip to the islands. We're also on the Hebridean Way, so it's a nice place to take a couple of days out and relax.
Explore the magic of the Callanish Stones, the history in Uig and Great Bernera, our stunning beaches, the breathtaking scenery, the local artists and artisans.
There really is something for everyone.
We also have secure bicycle storage for those coming at a more leisurely pace.

A cosy haven in the Hebrides, Snowberry Cottage is not only equipped with board games, books and a Smart TV to relax with, but also plenty of tourist information for getting out and about, and discovering all these magical islands have to offer.
